Its a good thing you will find it your way back home again in Butuan....though seems NOT of your will and choosing....but perhaps by divine intervention...ha..ha..ha

Seems you have many things to get re-acquainted again to your home city...not to mention the street names...but other newer spots as well.

But I wont be naming them (for purposes of surprise by the time you arrive) :)

Thanks for featuring my blog link in your latest post.....I suggest we interlink or exchange links.....waddya think.?

welll.. enjoy your holidays....Looking forward of hearing from you..

I've already linked you man. Your pictures are awesome!! I will be going to Cagwait tomorrow, and hopefully next time I'll be able to visit the Enchanted River and the Tinuy-an Falls.

I lived in Butuan City for 8 years from 1990 to 1998. At the time we left for Cebu, the boat fare was only 300. Now, it's a thousand! I wanna go back to Butuan so badly. I miss Weegols Chicken Inasal, the peanuts near Busa, the riverboats going to Magallanes, the park in Capitol. I actually went back there in 2007 but I didn't go around much because I was in some sort of a business trip. hehehe. I'll try to plan a trip for Butuan via CDO maybe. :D

i should have read this before I went there last month. But Cebpac killed my sched. but the free travel voucher i got for the delay saved me a few thousand bucks for my trip to Cebu this Holy Week.

Anyway, I should remember those places when I return to that City someday.

my bestfriend works there in butuan and she's been really trying hard to convince to go there but Davao City is 7 hours away from Butuan... so I always say no to her invitations hehehe...
  • pinoytraveller · 8 months ago
Hi Miah, thanks for your comment. 7 hours is just a blink of an eye! But in return, you'll have lots of stories to tell your friends. :) Should be worth the trip. Come on down! lol.

I've always wanted to travel to the Philippines, but I've heard some horror stories involving shady taxis.
  • pinoytraveller · 7 months ago
Hi Charles, there are opportunistic drivers here as in everywhere but that shouldn't deter you from travelling. :)

I heard Butuan now has a "cruise" thingie on the Agusan River... There's also a sky diving spot... And if you want to chill with nature, the Bood Eco Park's boating activity is a must! =)

I have a biz trip to Davao in feb. I have enjoyed reading ur blogs and the info. I was intending heading to Siargao for surfing but now ur info has diverted that thought. I wanna check out hintuan & da river now. Are you aware of any surfing places along that coast? Is it possible to rent a car in a city like batuan?
great pics, great comments, and funny.
  • pinoytraveller · 3 days ago
Hi xeroic, I think you can do both if you have a couple of days to spare. I think half a day in Hinatuan River is more than enough. Make sure you go there early morning though when it's at its awesomest. You can then swing over to Siargao afterwards. If you can rent a car for a day, I think you will be able to make it to Surigao City (jump off for Siargao) before nightfall. Regarding car rental in Butuan, you can always check with the City Tourism office, they have their office beside the city plaza. They usually have a list of accredited operators just so you don't get scammed. You can always get one of those city tricycles to take you there.

I would have referred you to their website but their web account has been suspended (epic fail, lol). Enjoy!
